Taking the Great Commission Seriously

We take the Great Commission seriously.

25 But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them,
and their great ones exercise authority over them.
26 It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,
27 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,
28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
– Matthew 20:25-28

In this bit of scripture, Jesus lays bear the essential purpose for His coming to earth, to die and rise again, for the salvation of our souls and that of the whole world.  Also here we see the essential work of the church.

Jesus left us, his people, the divine mission of sharing in his personal ministry to seek and save the lost.

The Great Commission, the final words of our savior on earth, reveals the priority of this mission, to convey the saving message of Christ to a lost and dying world.

Yes, Jesus Christ took the Great Commission seriously!  So much so he made it the very reason the church exists.

In other words, he came here to practice it himself, he came here to die to provide salvation, and has called us to join him in his work of love.

Today more than ever, each member of the local church must take seriously the call of Christ and spread the soul saving story of our Lord.

The Herald of Truth Ministry takes the Great Commission seriously.  Evangelism is all we do!  Will you join us in our Savior’s mission?

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
– Matthew 28:18-20
